Check out Port for yourself ➜

Port CLI

Port CLI (port) is a command-line client for the Port API. You can use it to authenticate to one or more organizations, run API operations, and export, import, compare, or migrate Port data.

Platform engineers use it for backups, environment promotion, and org drift checks. Coding agents can run the same binary from the shell, print JSON, and pipe results through tools such as jq.

For chat-style catalog questions from an IDE, use the Port MCP server instead. Use the CLI when you need raw stdout, scripts, or bulk org operations.

Features

  • Authenticate - Log in to multiple organizations.
  • API operations - Run CRUD operations on Port resources.
  • Export - Back up blueprints, entities, scorecards, actions, teams, automations, pages, and integrations.
  • Import - Restore data from a backup.
  • Migrate - Transfer data between Port organizations.
  • Compare - Diff two organizations and generate text, JSON, or HTML reports.
  • Clear - Bulk-delete org resources (blueprints, entities, actions, scorecards, automations, pages).
  • Skills - Sync AI skills from Port into local AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenAI Codex, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot).

Who it is for

  • Platform engineers who maintain more than one Port org (staging and production, sandbox rebuilds, CI gates).
  • People running Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools against Port from the shell.
